About DHNB

On April 21, 2015, Digital Humanities in the Nordic countries (DHN) was formed in Oslo and the first DHN conference was held in March the following year. At the Annual General Meeting held on October 22, 2020, the members of DHN approved the change of the name to “Digital Humanities in the Nordic and Baltic countries” (DHNB).

The purpose of the organisation is to strengthen research, education, and communication in the field of Digital Humanities. Our primary means to achieve this is through coordination and informing about activities that take place in the surrounding area. DHNB will also organise events such as conferences, workshops, “summer schools” for researchers and students from different levels. The organisation can initiate and support such activities. More generally, the organization aims to promote cooperation across disciplines, between the academic and the political worlds, and raise the awareness of the significance of Digital Humanities.

DHNB is an associated organisation to the European Association for Digital Humanities.
